MicioMatto.net is born in March 2008 from a very simple concept. Programmers and cats are alike, independent, stubborn and territorial. Internet is their own territory where the publish the outcome of their projects, put in practice their independence and talk about what they care most.
 Like the cats, I also need my own room where I talk about myself and publish my stuff under the pseudonym of Micio Matto. I didn't choose this name randomly. Besides the fact that I'm a happy owner of a mad cat (as long as I can claim it as mine), my initials are M C, the same as Mad Cat, Micio Matto in Italian.
My life
I'm a programmer in a small software house, where I'm employed since September 2005. I write code fro finance in C++/C#, I deal with databases, online reporting, data migration online systems and many other things. SSince February 2007 I develop websites based on Joomla CMS.
In my spare time
Whe I'm off working I like doing many thing, so that I often end up doing nothing at all... I love travelling, learning, discovering, reading and programming. Because of a weird train of coincidences I found myself working on my MSc thesis from 2004 to 2005. During those months I had been working on an animation framework for artificial human figures and got involved in 3D graphics, even though at a beginner level.
When the dusk falls I dance latin american (Caribbean for the sake of accuracy). Again for a weird combination of events, I dance salsa and bachata since September 2005, even though only recently it turned to a passion. I like dancing with whoever. It's a lot of fun and challenging!

In a few words, a stray cat...
My name is Marco Carosio, I was born on Janyary 9th, 1980 in Alessandria. I've been into computing since 1988. I had grown old in the 80s, a magic time which I remember with great nostalgia. Perhaps in those years I was too young to appreciate Van Halen or Whitesnakes. Now I often happen to feel melacholy thinking back to those times.

Te la do io la Scozia...
 Direbbe un noto comico genovese. Quando parti per una vacanza hai sempre la stessa sensazione: che sarà appunto per una vacanza. Ma questa volta c'era qualcosa di più in serbo per me. Partire mi ha sempre messo una certa tristezza, ma quel lunedì mattina mi sentivo come un emigrante. Una valigia di sogni, anzi due e pure pesantissime, tanta immaginazione, speranze e desideri, la voglia di avventura e la speranza che qualcuno mi prendesse per la collotta prima che facessi una stupidaggine.

Dal periodo scozzese molte cose sono cambiate. Mi sono laureato alla fine, e mono male perché non ce la facevo più a dare esami e sputare sangue sulaltesi, anche se confesso di esseri divertito parecchio, a tratti. In fin dei conti la mia tesi di laurea è stato un passatempo divertente, anche se a volte davvero irritante. Specie quando quell'omino non voleva saperne di saltare fuori dallo schermo.
Sì, perché di questo si trattava. Costruire un omino artificiale al computer ed animarlo. E perché non iniziare da qualcosa di semplice? Tipo i katà di Karate Shotokan? Una volta realizzate le animazioni, si trattava di perturbarle con un modello matematico e collegare movimenti elementari per costruire animazioni non ripetitive.
E dopo gli studi si inizia a lavorare. Quell'estate, due settimane dopo la laurea, la prima telefonata, ma ero già in parola da maggio per iniziare a Valenza, dove lavoro dal settembre 2005. Oggi faccio il programmatore, viaggio quando posso, ballo latino americano, collaboro col Centro di Cultura di Alessandria. |
